Disclaimer: I am not a leader of the group. I am only a person who is requesting for an event to happen at some point in time. Any actions placed by the leaders of the group are not in my control.
Ok, so I've been thinking "when's the video game thing going to happen?" I have two to four possible people who would like to come to the anime club to play BRAWL (or something else). I would like for something to happen, but it isn't up to me to decide.
If possible, I would like to set up some sort of a tournament for some sort of prize for the first placing people in games like Dragon Ball Z, Super Smash Brothers, ect., but once again, it is not for me to decide on. If this idea is accepted, then I would request that I speak with the leaders in order to agree on the setup of the tournament.
I would like some input from some of the leading people and some of the others who go to the club to see if this would be something that people would be interested in, rather than it being an epic fail if/when the time comes.

I would like it to be on a Saturday night possibly...Its a great idea but I'm not too good at video games (especially with the Wii). >_< Unless they could get two projecters or whatever, but having in the same room as people watching animu might be a little disruptive. Or even another activity for those who arnt playing at the moment or not interested in playing...

Would it be possible to do one of the following: reserve a Friday meeting for a game tournament, hold it on a Saturday, or get a TV and play outside the room? There's also the idea of holding a "handheld" game tournament outside the room, assuming everyone involved can procure a DS and/or PSP.

Ok, everyone, I have 1 Wii, 2 GC controllers (soon to be 4), 2 WiiMotes, 2 nunchucks, 1 classic controller, and Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (all for the Wii, hehe). On top of that, I have a friend who might be willing for us to borrow his Wii and Smash Bros. game, (and a few controllers and such).
So, who's got anything else to offer? Can't say much for the TVs, but I can try to pitch in some money for them.

If enough people are in support for a game day I'm all for it; the main problem is resources. I'm pretty sure I can get the room on a Saturday, but the problem is the money and the resources etc. How many people participate will determine our scope, as will how much people are willing to pay. In the coming weeks I'll try and figure out how much said resources would cost, and how many people are willing to participate. Unfortunately the winter quarter usually experiences a drop-off in participation on the part of our members, so if there' not enough people present to get excited about this idea then we'll try again in the coming quarter, when people inevitably start to think "hmmmm...I haven't been to Greenwood in awhile...". The other thing we have to decide is how many/what games are going to be played. Brawl is going to be on the list, and I've heard a couple of other suggestions from the previous posts so vote on what games you want to be there. At least that's one aspect that we won't have to wait to decide on.
