There was some discussion about having a fundraising committee as a experiment to see if we can raise funds and have a space to showcase our artistic abilities through selling art on campus for the club.
I am posting this as a reminder of some of what was discussed and to get the ball rolling.
In my experience, doing graphic design for the fraternities and websites for student organizations can bring in a lot of money. THE INK BLOT's annual budget was between $2,000 and $3,000 per year. We started advertising with putting a comic strip in the Highlander. THE INK BLOT later branched out and sold T-shirts and canvas tote bags with designs handpainted on them.
Is any one still interested in this idea?
It would be a good idea to see what art skills every one brings to the table, too, so that we can effectively make use of every interested individuals skills. This is as much about having fun as it is about learning and taking a stab at going pro (which some of you have already done on your own). This benefits the club as a whole, but I leave what happens with the enlarged budget to the president of Greenwood.
