First they learn to make coffee and then, when humanity becomes dependent on them for their coffee needs, they stop producing it so they can easily take over the world from the sleepy population.
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect... but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly.... timey-wimey.... stuff.
