Hey, this is Sasha
What's the deal?
With the rise in digital art, and the fall of the economy, what does a traditional artist do to keep his/herself from starving to death? Well, she makes a New Year's resolution to do commissions.
What are commissions?
Commissions are pieces of artwork that you pay me to do. The artwork can be anything you want as long as you tell me in detail what you want me to do.
Why would I pay YOU to draw?
I understand that many of you cannot afford because of our economy. A lot of you need the money for food, rent, or school. Though I cannot offer you money, I can offer you happiness. I can draw whatever you want, so you can treasure it for years. Money is fleeting, disappears and reappears at the economy's ebbing tide.
How much are you asking?
The real question is, how much would you be willing to pay me? I've noticed a lot of commissioners have been asking for a really hefty some of money - 5-10 USD's for a small 4x6 inch drawing (about the size of a standard photograph). This is very unreasonable. If you would still like to know how much here are my rates:
Penciled: 50 cents - 2 USD's
Inked: 1- 3 USD's
Colored (Includes being Inked): 2-5 USD's
How big are your drawings?
My standard drawings will probably be 5 x 7 to 8 X 10 (about the sizes of your average large photograph and average printer paper). If you would like a bigger size, it might cost you a little more, and will take more time for you to receive your picture. However, if you request for a larger size and you are willing to pay the amount, let me know with your order and we'll negotiate.
How long will it take?
Small pencil sketches take me about 1-2 hours. The 1st hour comes with research of the item being drawn, and 2nd hour comes with the actual sketch. A 3rd hour is possible if you only want a pencil sketch. I call this "the cleaning up" process". Inked drawings take about 1-3 hours (about the same as a sketch)
Colored sketches take longer with an additional 4-6 hours. The first two hours come with inking. You MAY NOT request a change at this point! Unlike digital artist, traditional artists can not "fix" or "change" the drawing. I will notify you before I've reached this stage of the drawing. If you are satisfied, I will continue with the inking process.
Also, I can't simply draw all day, I go to school about 13-20 hours a week, including all outside activities such as a band and other clubs. Please know that I'm not a machine and that I too am a human like you and I need time to rest.
In addition, if I'm unstressed, the quality is better.
Are there any limits to what I can ask of you?
There are no limits. Just don't ask me to stalk someone and sketch them out for you. That's illegal. Anything that puts my life in danger could cost you more than anything you'd ever want to pay.
How will I get the drawing?
I will send you a scanned version of the drawing. If you wish for the original, know that I may have to mail it to you and that it will cost you shipping charges. If you don't want to pay for shipping, the drawing will be available for pick up.
Where will the money guy after I pay you?
All the money I receive from commissions will be used for ART SUPPLIES ONLY!!!. I will ensure that your money is going to be put through good use, and that your contribution for my art will be safely used for art supplies such as paper, ink, and markers ect. I will update you on my spending progress for my art.
How to contact you?
Please private message me on facebook if you would like to order a drawing along with a detailed (detail is key to a good drawing) description of your request. You may also email me at sashamturk@gmail.com.
If you have any other questions please contact me.
Thank you very much for you're support!
PS: I will be adding MORE photos from drawings soon! And I will post finished commissions in a separate photo album for everyone to look at.
