My apologies for the late post. I've been having computer problems for the past week. Seems the viruses that have plagued me in the past have come to take my computer away; now whenever I hit the power button it perpetually restarts as windows begins to load. But this post isn't about that...
It's about the SHOPPING TRIP FOR FALL 2009, which will be this coming Saturday, the 21st of November.
Here's the specifics:
Time: We'll be meeting up at 9, with plans to leave for our first destination by around 9:15-9:30ish.
Place: We'll be meeting in Parking lot 6 on the UCR campus. This is relatively close to where are club meetings are; it's the parking lot next to the new Psychology building. If anyone is completely lost I'd be happy to post a link to a campus map.
On our itinerary so far we'll be heading to Frank n' Sons, which is essentially a warehouse full of geek paraphernalia, and then over to Little Tokyo in LA for lunch and some more shopping in places like Anime Jungle. After that, we're open to suggestions. Sasha's got a good idea for another shopping center in the LA area that we can go to, so we'll consider that and all the other possibilities and take a vote at the meeting this Friday.
More drivers are always welcome, so please let us know by posting below if you'll be able to drive. If not, we'll try to situate you with one of the other drivers. For as long as I'm aware we've always had enough drivers to accommodate everyone, so hopefully that'll be the case this year.
In terms of cost, even if you don't want to buy anything bring $40ish for food, and if you're not driving bring an extra $5 or so to help your driver with the gas and any parking expenses. If you do want to buy something (and who doesn't?), be prepared to be deluged by the sparkling trinkets of your deepest desires. Many a man has gone on this trip and been forced to live on ramen for months afterward...
If you can't make it to the meeting on Friday but want to go on the trip on Saturday POST IN THIS THREAD and specify that you won't be in club on Friday. That way we'll be able to include you in the discussion when situating drivers on Friday.
If you have any other questions post below.
