To all students that are living in Lothian/A-I/Pentland/Glenmor (and apartments that receive RHA TV on Channel 3):
I'm joining RHA TV, which currently meets at A-I residential restaurant at 9pm-10pm every Wednesday. I think the only requirement to join is that you're a student, but you dont have to live in those designated areas, but I'll get to that. If you would also like to attend the meetings and give Greenwood and anime more support, please help by attending this weekly meeting.
What RHA TV does: we broadcast movies on channel 3, right now from 12PM to 2AM. You can check what's playing on the RHA website and to go the TV tab.
What does this have to do with Greenwood: as a pseudo representative from Greenwood, I can elect movies to be shown each month. Our cap is somewhere around 8 movies per month, but I would like to show at least three anime movies this year (1 per quarter). Not only to entertain you guys who receive this channel, but to also grow the anime population on campus.
What does this have to do with YOU: if there's enough interest within the club, as a club we can elect a movie each month for me to relay back to RHA. That being said, we need nominations for movies and a club vote. If there's not enough interest on the forums for a vote, I can still take nominations and then choose one myself. You can also come to the meetings. There's a bit more to the meetings than electoral processes, but I dont have the details as of yet.
What RHA TV plans on doing this year: the president plans on streaming movies on the RHA website for any UCR students. I'm not sure on the logistics of it, but it sounds awesome.
What else can the club do: I know we probably dont have any funding, but there are opportunities to advertise on RHA TV. You can contact the site admin on the RHA site for details on that. If we get a movie in, I'm sure we could get an advertisement before/after the movie. We can also get more money by doing fund-raising ourselves, but we'd have to have a little more dedication...
They DONT HAVE MUCH! Look under the "Japanese Animation" genre and here's the very short list of what we have to choose from:
[/i] ((We watched this in club last year I believe, but still a good holiday movie))[/li][/ul]
tl;dr - I thought it would be a great idea to have anime being put on TV.

More information to be posted in the near future. Hopefully this project will be feasible and successful.
