Besides the lack of members, (theres only like 3 people who post), there's some other things I'd like to see:
More info about events. Like separate posts in the info forum about the halloween event/trip to Little Tokyo/potluck/ext. They dont even have to be detailed or anything. They could be discussions on times and stuff. I had to leave early this meeting because of family, so I dont know what's going on; and I'm sure the other three posters would like to discuss the events, too.
The official post about GwFS doesnt even have the time the meetings starts. I assumed it was 6:30, but it varies. We can use the forums to, you know, spread information about meeting times! If you know you'll be late, be sure to tell us beforehand so we're not stuck there doing nothing! Its not what you can do for your forum, its what your forum can do for US!
Suggestion for the meetings:
Start of the meeting round-table question. So basically, when we're ready to start, we'll be sitting (in a circle). Our leader asks a question related to anime (dubs-vs-subs/anime-vs-manga/favorite genre/ext), and one by one we answer the question. Why it should be at the start of the meeting instead of the end is; it'll get us focused on the anime ahead, and it might take a while with our numbers to risk running the meeting late into the night. But if it runs too long anyway, we should probably stop.
Or like a weekly poll of hands...Whose ever been to a convention/went to the grocery store in-costume/managed to live through 300+ eps of Naruto/been glomped by a stranger/is a lurker/ext...

Generally there will be posts on the forums for events like the shopping trips, pot-luck, cosplay, and whatever else but it's usually maybe only a week or so in advance. Usually they are discussed at the end of the meeting before the majority of the members head out so that we can get a general idea of what's going on and then it will be posted on the forums afterwords so that anyone that wasn't there at the end can see what the general plan for it is and can also add in some feedback.
Usually it does start on-time but unfortunately this quarter there have been some budget issues that have needed to be worked out so the projector that we usually get from UCR has not been available. The one that has been used for the last three meetings is a personal one that's owned by some of the members and since they have not known if they needed to bring it until about the time club should usually start they have to make a special trip to get it and bring it along, and since they are usually busy at the time it also delays things a bit as well.
The suggestions sound interesting and you could bring them up to someone at club to see if there would be interest in doing something like that, but as for me I'll still be outside the room doing something else. ;D
(sorry for any incoherence in this post, I should have probably went to sleep a few (5) hours ago but I'm easily distracted by stuff)

One last quick note before I go pass out: The officers have tried really hard to get more people to sign up on the forums and to get more discussion going but it just seems that a lot of people are just not interested in them. Perhaps this year will be different. *shrugs*

Neo pretty much said it all... we like to make events announcements closer to the date and when we have more information. But what I did do is add event dates and general descriptions about what is going on during those dates to the "Fall Quarter Information" thread so people know which dates to set aside for club activities. And FYI, meeting time information was in the original post. You must have just overlooked it. From experience, we also know it's better to post information closer to the date. So you will see a Halloween thread shortly after this Friday's meeting, after we discuss who will be bringing what food/drinks for the party. We would also like to see more people utilizing the forums, but for whatever reason, they're relatively quiet. I know personally that this is the first time since I created the thing that I've been able to post due to my hectic schedule. We will continue to encourage people to post here, but it is something that is unfortunately out of our control. As for round-table discussions, I will pass your suggestions on to the pres. Thanks for the feedback! Finally, as for being late... my husband and I did not intend to be late so there was no way to give forewarning. And like Neo mentioned, Greenwood is having budget issues so it is affecting the usual way the pres runs things. Hopefully all the issues will be ironed out this coming week and we won't have to run back home to bring our projector (which we really shouldn't be doing for certain reasons...) So we would really appreciate your patience on this matter. I personally see the meeting delay as an opportunity to chat with fellow club members (like we did the previous week by inviting everyone to play Munchkin with us). If there are unexpected delays in the future, I hope you will use that time to talk to some of the other people coming to Greenwood, which is half the reason we have weekly meetings anyway.

It's so cute that you can even say that still. You're right, I'm not even sure where that last bit a optimism was hiding out. I will have to double my efforts to be more pessimistic.

One suggestion that I have is a sub-forum where members can post their own created works such as AMVs, fanarts, and fanfics of anime or video games for other Greenwood Members to see and critique. Maybe that could encourage members to join the forums and show off their talents.
Edit: Wow an almost two-year bumb.
